Used Engine Price by Make — UAE Quick Reference
Ask what a used engine costs and you get one answer: it depends. True, but useless. The price depends on four variables you can name yourself — make, engine type, mileage, and condition. Get those four right and the range narrows to something you can plan around. A used Toyota 4-cylinder lands at AED 1,500 to 4,000. A used Mercedes V8 lands at AED 12,000 to 25,000. The same word, "engine," covers a 16x price spread. This page breaks the UAE used engine market down by make, type, and condition so you know what your specific engine should cost before you call a single supplier.
Get Free Engine Quotes — 60 MinThere is no single typical price. There is a range, and where you land inside it is decided before you start shopping — by the badge on your car. Across the UAE used engine market, the practical span runs from AED 1,500 to AED 25,000. Most buyers land in the AED 2,000 to 9,000 band, because most cars on UAE roads are Japanese 4-cylinders and V6s with deep supply pools.
The reason the spread is so wide comes down to supply. The UAE fleet has been Japanese-dominated for three decades, so when those cars are dismantled, the market fills with Toyota, Nissan, and Honda engines. German, British, and luxury V8 vehicles sell in far smaller numbers. Fewer cars on the road means fewer engines in the breakers, and that scarcity pushes prices up regardless of the engine's actual quality.
| Engine Category | Example Engines | Used (AED) | Reconditioned (AED) | UAE Supply |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Japanese 4-cylinder petrol | Toyota 1ZZ/2ZR, Honda R18, Nissan MR20 | 1,500 – 4,000 | 4,000 – 8,000 | ???? Highest |
| Japanese V6 petrol | Nissan VQ35, Toyota 2GR, Honda J35 | 4,000 – 9,000 | 9,000 – 15,000 | ???? Good |
| Japanese diesel (4-cyl) | Toyota 2KD, Mitsubishi 4M41, Nissan YD25 | 2,800 – 10,000 | 9,000 – 18,000 | ???? High |
| German turbo 4/6-cyl | BMW N20/N55, Mercedes M274/M276 | 6,000 – 18,000 | 15,000 – 28,000 | ???? Limited |
| British V6/V8 (Land Rover) | 3.0 SC V6, 5.0 V8 supercharged | 9,000 – 25,000 | 22,000 – 38,000 | ???? Limited |
| V8 petrol (luxury/American) | Toyota 1UR/3UR, Chevy LS, Nissan VK56 | 9,000 – 22,000 | 20,000 – 40,000 | ???? Limited |
Six variables decide your number. Name each one for your engine and the range tightens fast. Here they are, ordered by how much they move the price.
The mistake most buyers make is comparing prices across makes. A AED 8,000 BMW engine is not expensive next to a AED 3,000 Toyota — they are different products in different supply markets. Compare like for like: same make, same engine code, same condition. That is the only comparison that tells you whether a quote is fair.
The badge sets your starting price. Below is the UAE used engine market broken down by the eight makes most requested through FindMyParto, with the common engine codes and price bands for each.
Nissan runs second to Toyota in UAE fleet volume. The VQ-series V6 is one of the most widely stocked engines in the market, and Patrol demand keeps the VK-series V8 moving despite higher prices. Parts support is strong across the petrol range.
| Engine | Type | Common In | Used (AED) | UAE Stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HR16 / MR20 | 1.6L / 2.0L 4-cyl petrol | Tiida, Sentra, X-Trail | 1,800 – 4,000 | ???? |
| QR25DE | 2.5L 4-cyl petrol | Altima, X-Trail, Rogue | 2,500 – 5,500 | ???? |
| VQ35DE / VQ37VHR | 3.5L / 3.7L V6 petrol | Maxima, 350Z, Pathfinder | 4,500 – 9,000 | ???? |

| VK56DE | 5.6L V8 petrol | Patrol, Armada, Titan | 9,000 – 16,000 | ???? |
Mitsubishi's UAE supply leans toward work and off-road vehicles. The 4M41 diesel in the Pajero is the standout — strong demand, decent supply, and a healthy export market to East Africa.
| Engine | Type | Common In | Used (AED) | UAE Stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4G63 / 4B11 | 2.0L / 2.4L 4-cyl petrol | Lancer, Outlander | 2,000 – 4,500 | ???? |
| 6B31 / 6G72 | 3.0L / 3.8L V6 petrol | Pajero, Montero | 4,000 – 8,000 | ???? |
| 4M41 / 4D56 | 3.2L / 2.5L turbo diesel | Pajero, L200 Triton | 4,000 – 10,000 | ???? |
Honda's UAE supply is petrol-only and concentrated in the popular 4-cylinder codes. The K-series is widely stocked and cheap; the J35 V6 sits at the top of the range. Parts are easy to find for both.
| Engine | Type | Common In | Used (AED) | UAE Stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| L15 / R18 | 1.5L / 1.8L 4-cyl petrol | Jazz, Civic, City | 1,500 – 3,500 | ???? |
| K24 | 2.4L 4-cyl petrol | Accord, CR-V | 3,000 – 6,000 | ???? |
| J35 | 3.5L V6 petrol | Accord, Pilot, Odyssey | 4,500 – 9,000 | ???? |
BMW engines cost more and sell slower. The supply pool is a fraction of Toyota's, the engines are turbocharged and complex, and UAE heat is hard on them. Buy on documented condition, not on price alone.
| Engine | Type | Common In | Used (AED) | UAE Stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| N20 | 2.0L turbo 4-cyl | 3 Series, 5 Series, X1 | 6,000 – 11,000 | ???? |
| N55 / B58 | 3.0L turbo inline-6 | 335i, 535i, X5, M340i | 9,000 – 16,000 | ???? |
| N63 / S63 | 4.4L twin-turbo V8 | 550i, X5 50i, M5 | 14,000 – 20,000 | ???? |
Mercedes engines carry the highest prices of any mainstream make in the UAE used market. The supply is thin, the designs are complex, and a V8 with low mileage commands premium money. Documentation matters more here than on any Japanese unit.
| Engine | Type | Common In | Used (AED) | UAE Stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| M274 | 2.0L turbo 4-cyl | C-Class, E-Class, GLC | 6,500 – 12,000 | ???? |
| M276 | 3.0L / 3.5L V6 petrol | C/E/S-Class, ML, GLE | 10,000 – 18,000 | ???? |
| M278 / M157 | 4.7L / 5.5L twin-turbo V8 | S-Class, GL, AMG | 15,000 – 25,000 | ???? |
Land Rover engines are among the most expensive used units in the UAE. Supply is limited, the supercharged V6 and V8 are heat-stressed, and a healthy low-mileage unit is hard to find. This is a make where a documented reconditioned engine often beats a cheap used one.
| Engine | Type | Common In | Used (AED) | UAE Stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3.0 SC V6 | 3.0L supercharged V6 | Range Rover Sport, Discovery | 9,000 – 16,000 | ???? |
| 5.0 SC V8 | 5.0L supercharged V8 | Range Rover, Sport, SVR | 15,000 – 25,000 | ???? |
Chevrolet sits between Japanese and German pricing. The LS-family V8 is the standout — strong supply for a non-Japanese engine, low parts cost, and a wide tuning and repair network in the UAE.
| Engine | Type | Common In | Used (AED) | UAE Stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LE9 / Ecotec | 2.4L 4-cyl petrol | Malibu, Cruze, Captiva | 3,500 – 6,000 | ???? |
| LFX V6 | 3.6L V6 petrol | Camaro, Impala, Traverse | 5,000 – 9,000 | ???? |
| LS-family V8 | 5.3L / 6.2L V8 petrol | Tahoe, Silverado, Camaro SS | 8,000 – 14,000 | ???? |
Read the three rows as a single decision. A used standard unit is the cheapest entry point, but the warranty is short and the internal wear is unknown. A low-mileage unit costs 40 to 60 percent more and buys you verified condition and a longer life. A reconditioned engine costs the most up front but resets the wear clock and carries the longest warranty.
Match the grade to how long you'll keep the car. Selling within a year — buy used standard. Keeping it two to four years — buy low-mileage. Keeping it past four years — buy reconditioned. The premium pays for itself only if you hold the car long enough to use the warranty and the extra life.
Not every used engine in the UAE came out of a UAE car. A large share is imported — pulled from low-mileage vehicles in Japan, Australia, the US, and Europe, then shipped through Jebel Ali. The two sources price differently, and knowing which one you're buying changes what the number means.
| Factor | UAE-Sourced (Local Fleet) | Imported (JDM / Australia / US) |
|---|---|---|
| Typical mileage | High — 100,000 km+ fleet use | Lower — often under 80,000 km |
| Heat exposure | High — UAE summers stress every unit | Lower — cooler home climates |
| Price | Lower — no import cost | Higher — adds 15 to 40% |
| Documentation | Variable — fleet history often thin | Stronger — auction sheets common |
| Availability | Same day for common codes | 1 – 3 weeks if not in stock |
| Best for | Budget buys, common Japanese codes | Low-mileage units, rare engines |
The emirate you buy from shapes price, supply, and how fast you get the engine. Four hubs carry most of the market. Each has its own strength.
The largest used and reconditioned engine cluster in the UAE. Deepest Japanese stock, most competitive pricing, same-day collection on common codes. FindMyParto base.
The import gateway. Best source for low-mileage JDM, Australian, and US units, plus German and rare engines. Stronger paperwork than the average yard.
The budget end. Competitive pricing on used standard units and older codes for Africa export. More cosmetic refreshes here, so inspect carefully.
Smaller market with thinner local stock. Most engines arrive next day from Sharjah or Dubai. Good for government and fleet-sourced units.
Buying from a classifieds seller and buying from a verified supplier are not the same transaction. A classifieds engine is sold as-is, often with no warranty and no inspection. A verified FindMyParto supplier states condition in writing, allows a compression test before payment, and issues warranty terms upfront. The price difference is small. The risk difference is not.
A used engine quote means nothing until the engine passes inspection. The price is the easy part. Verifying the unit is healthy is what protects the money you spend. Run these checks — or have a workshop run them — before you pay.
Compression is the single most reliable health check. New or healthy cylinders produce even readings inside the range for that engine type. Test every cylinder. The spread between them matters as much as the highest number.
| Engine | Type | Healthy Range (PSI) | Max Variance | Reject Below |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toyota 1ZZ / 2ZR | 1.8L 4-cyl petrol | 170 – 210 PSI | < 10% | 150 PSI any cylinder |
| Toyota 2GR-FE | 3.5L V6 petrol | 175 – 220 PSI | < 10% | 155 PSI any cylinder |
| Nissan VQ35 | 3.5L V6 petrol | 175 – 220 PSI | < 10% | 155 PSI any cylinder |
| Honda K24 / R18 | 1.8L / 2.4L 4-cyl petrol | 180 – 220 PSI | < 10% | 160 PSI any cylinder |
| BMW N20 / N55 | 2.0L / 3.0L turbo petrol | 160 – 200 PSI | < 10% | 145 PSI any cylinder |
| Mercedes M274 / M276 | 2.0L turbo / 3.5L V6 | 160 – 200 PSI | < 10% | 145 PSI any cylinder |
| Diesel (2KD / 4M41 / YD25) | 2.4L – 3.2L turbo diesel | 350 – 435 PSI | < 10% | 310 PSI any cylinder |
UAE used engines ship across the GCC, Africa, and South Asia every day. The engine price is only part of the landed cost — shipping, lead time, and method change the total. The table below sets the working figures for the most common destinations.
| Destination | Shipping Method | Lead Time | Est. Shipping (AED) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia / Oman | Road freight | 2 – 5 days | 250 – 600 |
| Kuwait / Bahrain / Qatar | Road / sea freight | 3 – 6 days | 300 – 700 |
| Kenya / Tanzania / Uganda | Sea freight | 8 – 14 days | 600 – 1,200 |
| Nigeria / Ghana | Sea freight | 14 – 22 days | 800 – 1,600 |
| South Africa / Zimbabwe | Sea freight | 16 – 24 days | 900 – 1,800 |
| Pakistan / India | Sea freight | 5 – 10 days | 500 – 1,000 |
Include your country and port of destination when submitting a request — suppliers quote engine plus shipping as a single total. All exports include commercial invoice, packing list, and certificate of origin.
